At BU, our athletes aren’t specifically athletes. They are student-athletes, and it is important to note that the “student” part is always put first by players and coaches alike.
Before 2013, Boston University Athletics was part of the America East conference. However, in 2013, the school transitioned into the Patriot League, taking with it 21 of its teams and adding two more: men’s lacrosse and women’s lightweight rowing. The athletics are BU are D1; however, despite the intense demand these sports place on their athletes, every student is able to maintain a strong academic standing.
Outside of Varsity Sports, BU caters to a wide number of Club and Intramural Sports. Club Sports include teams like Men’s and Women’s Rugby, Squash, Golf, Kung Fu, Ski Racing, etc. The Intramural Sports are divided into seasons: fall, spring, and summer.
